User play on ball unresponsive?

Has anyone experienced in particular on all madden the triangle/play on ball has lag or slow response? This is for ps4 with ball hawk assist off and only user attempts. I find myself getting burned on a lot of plays while being in good position but my player is either late or does not go for the ball at all when he should.

I have seen it a few times. It's inconsistent, doesn't happen every time. It is very frustrating though. In my last game my DB just stood there while i was holding triangle and watched the WR jump right over his head to catch the easy TD.

I have had a number of instances where pressing a button to perform and action resulted in no response, and not just with going for the ball..I wish I could recall them all specifically, but it seems to happen at times when the CPU needs to make a big play...

Yes! I play on all madden with ball hawk on, and it always happens with my safeties, it's like they downshift, you can literally see them slow down and not make any effort, even though they have good position.

In my experience:

This is the result of animations being used excessively. If your not in position for an animation to trigger it won't. Such as the ball being to high, the defender just won't react.

We get these truly beautiful animations, but user (at least I do) is at a liability in some cases. There are plays where I switch to the DB, move to inside position, then the animation begins and I move to outside position and get boxed out by the WR.

Benjamin with the Panthers abused me last night. Cam would just throw it up and numerous times KB would just go up will my CB or safety wouldn't do any thing..

But it was also happening with my receivers. If I tried to use the buttons to make a catch it was a no go. If I just let the CPU make the catch for me then it was working out ok..
