I thought this would be messed up ... ?

I started a one person offline CFM and simmed season.
I simmed the entire preseason.
stats were quite good and there were no rampant player releases.
tradles and resigining within season were alright also.

Am I missing something here ?
U thought 32-team control was necessary ?

Please correct my error, as I am a newbie and need help.

M16 is a fun game.

and what about drive goals and does cpu automatically update players with XP, etc ?

First things first...remember that the game and experience really just needs to be fun for you. Doesn't matter what anyone else is doing/saying as long as you're enjoying it.

As far as the stuff that you mentioned:
- Crazy roster moves...some people get really picky about this but if that's not you, it sounds like you're in good shape.
- 32-team control...the basic idea initially was to disable the drive goals; some people want to control every aspect, others don't care enough to invest the amount of time necessary
- Drive goals...initially, they were leading to ratings over 99 because of the confidence boosts; that got toned down a bit but still resulted in confidence going up quickly from game to game and making things too easy late in the season. Seems like the 2nd patch has fixed that for the most part though.
- CPU progression...everything that I've read indicates that the CPU does use XP

there are some rookies that would never realistically be cut by their team. Tevin Coleman was one instance for the Falcons. Even though his ovr isn't that great in game, you don't spend draft capital on a player just to cut him in the preseason
