4-3 Suggestions?

Looking for suggestions with 4-3 playbooks. Currently using the Panthers book, but I can't stand their nickle and dime packages. The 4-3 stuff is fine, but I find the rest wanting.

Thanks!

Re: 4-3 Suggestions?

I use the Vikings as a base, then I've added the other 4-3 formations into it.. The key, at least for me is to have a good coverage linebacker who can handle the middle.. I like to also have one OLB who's decent in coverage, but can be that guy in the 4-3 odd formation who's up on the LoS and can blitz or drop back

What kind of stuff are you looking for out of the Nickel? Are you looking for a specific scheme such as rush packages with your linebackers, or just different fronts?

The Bengals seem to be a pretty popular 4-3. They have a variety of 3-3-5 and 3-3-5 Wide in their nickel, as well as double A. And I like Jack Del Rio's Raider playbook with the Under Odd and 4D End Nickel set.

Re: 4-3 Suggestions?

Good question as to what I'm looking for.

I think the biggest thing with the Panthers book is it's pretty vanilla when not in 4-3. There are 3 nickle formations, 1 dime, and 1 big dime if memory serves.

Some 3-3-5 and a better variety of blitzes sounds like a good starting point. I'll definitely give the Bengals and Raiders a look.
