Re-Sign Trait

Does the coach re-sign trait get players to resign for less money(ask) or does it just raise the probability of the player returning?

Re: Re-Sign Trait

Increases the probability that they will continue to negotiate after rejecting an offer.

Sometimes after 1 offer - kinda depends on their Predictability trait (Yes/No), and if you are really lowballing them.

And....you don't get to negotiate with them in the resign period either, if they turn you down completely mid-season. If that happens, the only way the player doesn't reach FA is if you use the Franchise Tag.

I usually dont lowball them, but i think i need to be cheap for the next season or two, thats why i was wondering. I never knew they could decide to not negotiate for the entire season and not talk in the offseason. That makes me want to just give guys what they ask for

Yeah, i've found that pinching pennies can be counterproductive if you really want to resign a guy. But you can definitely get lucky on lowish offers every now and then, so it's a risk tolerance issue.

I think they should raise the "not interested" threshold for predictable players. I think most guys realize that the game is a business and contract negotiations require patience. There's no harm in at least listening to additional offers, after all.
