If it wasn't for is inaccuracy in the Packer game, the Panthers should have won by 2 or 3 scores. In spite of all that, he is having a great year leading a team that is undefeated.

It's not just that game either. Houston, Seattle, Indy, Jax, TB those games were all close because of his inaccuracy. Cam is a tremendous all around weapon, much like Vick was he is just not that great of a QB. It's fine because Carolina has built their team around his play-making ability, they don't need to rely on his arm. It's hard to translate that into Madden though, so for them to make him a top QB they have to artificially raise his stats into something they shouldn't be.

Stats mean very little in the NFL. Cam is 16th in passing yards because the team doesn't pass much, plus they've been blowing quite a few teams out early, so the need to pass isn't there.

As for the accuracy...Check out who his WR's are.

Stats mean a lot, especially completion % for a QB. It tells you how accurate he is. You can say "look at his WR's" but that just an excuse fans make to mask a bad QB. Good QB's complete passes regardless of who their WR's are. In 2006 Tom Brady had Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney and Doug Gabriel has his top WR's, he still completed over his 60% of his passes. Russell Wilson still completes 68% of his passes this year with bad WR's. Cam also has some guy named Greg Olson who is one of the 3 best TE's in the NFL.

I think if Cam had an Elite WR in a passing offense he wouldnt be ranked 15-16 in passing yards..

He did have an Elite WR in Steve Smith and when he had him he was able to throw for over 4000 yards. In 2011 he finished 10th in yards. The problem has always been his completion %, that same year he was 18th (lowest among guys who threw for 4000 yards). Here is how he has finished each season in completion %:

2011 - 18th
2012 - 26th
2013 - 16th
2014 - 29th
2015 - 28th

If it was one or two seasons you could say he had a bad year, even HOF QB's have a few bad seasons. But he has never been an accurate QB, even when he had an elite WR in Steve Smith. Great all around player, but not a great QB. There is nothing wrong with that Carolina wins games because of him, but Madden has his accuracy highly overrated because of that.

I just feel like there are still so many other things that affect accuracy (pass rush, oline weakness, wind, drops, bad route running, really anything) that it can't be a tell-all statistic. One of many different measures of skill for sure, but doesn't solely define what makes a QB great.

No one with any critical thinking skill would cite completion percentage as a measure of accuracy. Drops, throwaways, hit while throwing, amounts of screens vs streaks. You have to look at the games. Is Cam Newton a top 5 most accurate QB? No. But he's not rated as such. Is he playing like a top 5 QB right now? Yes.
