That kind of score is not the norm now. Such scores happen but no more often than a close game of, say 21-17. The norm is something like a 42-14 blowout.

Concerning weather, they should add a system like Fifa 16 has. Have the game randomly generate a reasonably realistic weather scenario and then give us the option to change it to whatever we would like to. Fifa has like 10 options for game weather: light snow, heavy, hazy, clear, etc... and you can choose the time of game. Important note: all of these options are available in Manager Mode, not just the main menu. Should be a simple enough addition that would limit us from playing 8 nights games a season (not realistic or even legal for teams in the NFL) and playing every single game in the rain with 20mph winds. Would be a great addition, even if it's next year.

Hell I would settle for weather that changes throughout the game. It's either a blizzard for 4 quarters or clear. Or raining the whole game. It needs to have variations where there's a light drizzle to heavy precipitation or none at all through the course of a game.

A bug that appeared this year is broadcast cam doesn't have weather effects. Hopefully they fix that for the last patch.

Maybe it won't have every CFM game finishing 51-48.

Fix CFM weather, auto subs and that damn QB cam and I'll be happy. Anything on added to those are gravy this late in the process.
