As a side note, this is the video we did this weekend. It's a Sports Center style studio show about the upcoming playoffs.

Re: Full Immersion Online CFM
We do some good things in our league over on http://simchampions.com/cfl/ we're hoping to have an ESPN style website for our league with content and analysis over the next few years. We just need to keep adding quality users to the league. We have podcasts and radio shows as well.
We try to get every game streamed and do weekly/yearly highlights as well but it's kind of hard getting some guys on board with that as a lot of people just sign onto xbox and play their games and sign off. It would be nice to get a solid group of 32 guys who want to really get involved in a league and commit to posting regular content.Comment

Re: Full Immersion Online CFM
The madden league I'm in RedZone has a bunch of stuff. We do radio shows, magazines, podcasts, award voting to immerse the league.

The commish of the league is working on a 30 for 30 of our madden league. It's going to tell a lot of the biggest moments in 25 seasons!

Re: Full Immersion Online CFM
I think I've briefly touched on this before but I suppose it's worth sharing again. Not really an online-specific thing, but nevertheless.
Inspired by stuff like FiveThirtyEight and the now-defunct Advanced Football Analytics, I built an automated spreadsheet in OS X Numbers which lets me track advanced stats for all my players in single games and over the course of a season. I provide it the play-by-play data and it spits out all the rest for me, that including a win probability graph, WPA and EPA totals for each player who made a significant play, and a player comparison tool to figure out who is more consistently providing meaningful contributions (with respect to WPA and EPA as opposed to raw stats). I use this data to help me evaluate my players at the end of the season.
It requires a fair amount of data entry on my part; I have to provide the document all the play-by-play data for the game, which can get tricky to do in real time bouncing back and forth from the controller and keyboard, especially on defense. Once I give it the play-by-play data, however, it gives me everything else automagically.
Here are a couple of screen grabs:

Re: Full Immersion Online CFM
We started out with an NFL Red Zone type show where we had three league games being played at the same time and alternated between them like the RZC. Then we started doing play-by-play for select season and playoff games. Now we have a weekly magazine that chronicles storylines from the season. We also have a play money Sportsbook on our site that we use for the playoffs, big games and real life NFL and NCAA games.
We've used Group Me before which a lot of the guys liked and helped build relationships. We have a live chat on out forum now which has replaced GM. Having a forum where guys post articles about their team and league related stuff helps keep them interested as well.
I'll say this, and I'm sure the MBL guys will agree, that none of the "immersion" stuff matters without quality gameplay, strong leadership and a consistent product. If the league doesn't get advanced regularly or on a schedule, if guys are fighting over gameplay or members don't like the overall atmosphere, it really doesn't matter what you do to immerse them. You have to put out a consistently quality product and find quality members who buy into what you do and that's when things can grow.Comment
