I see Sanders make a beeline right into the muck, I assume to get to Kuechly. Luke veers around the left and "the man assigned to block him" is not available. #71 is doing his job, which based on the play call, looks like is to block the safety...so he's going to get him.

There's no spatial awareness in Madden. #71 doesn't go "where THEE HELL is Emmanuel?!!" and pick up his guy.

That won't happen in retail? I dunno about that..
If there's working dynamic re-targeting it shouldn't happen in retail with great regularity.

One thing I do like about this play is the actual animation of 71. I don't recall seeing that specific angle for blocking in the game before. If he played it correctly he has perfect leverage to seal Kuechly inside.

Rex hasn't failed on us, yet.

Every interview he has participated in has been delivered upon.

lol It still doesn't matter who chose it! It was put out there. It's in the game. They claim they'll fix it, and I hope they do, but it's in there for now. I really don't understand why there's any debate about that. Yes, the game is unfinished, but you could argue that the game is always unfinished. Patches, "next year," "3 year plan," etc. Until it's completely gone, it's there. Rex admits it, he knows it's awful, and he wants to fix it, BUT IT'S THERE.

If you don't care that it's there, that's a completely different discussion, and more power to you. But regardless of who chose it, how long the clip is, and the fact that we have no visual evidence that it's not in there anymore, IT IS IN THE GAME.

My lawd.

Really happy to see Rex own it and reject the "It's just 10 seconds!" excuse. Major props.

I hope it's as easy of a fix as he makes it seem bc that very thing has been in the game for the past 12 years.

There should be dynamic re-targeting for the OL and it should work. 71 shouldn't ignore the unblocked guy in front of him just because it's not his assignment. He's the most immediate threat to the play's success.

This is what Rex is alluding to.
