What is the pulling right tackle doing? Basically angling out and away from Kuechly? Looked weird imo
Edit: watched it again and can't really see why he'd run so wide, the play is to short side of the field and there is a WR blocking the lone CB on that side, only Kuechly was a threat. I reckon we'll add this to the growing list of "it's on rookie level" explanations

Guard pulled way to deep allowing for Luke to make that easy play. Hopefully that gets fixed.

They teach the guard to pull as close to the line as possible and pick up first man. Hopefully its a difficulty setting/early build issue.

It's something how the linemen just run past obvious blocks.

And 2, that outrageous blow-up tackle still in the game that you could nail 90% of the time if you wanted to. Why can't they make full body contact and bring a player down with a real tackle more frequently? Why is that such a bad thing to them? Everything shouldn't be a highlight reel hit.

Yes, this video was a complete fail. He may not respond, but I had to tweet it to Clint, and let him know how bad it made the oline look. There are mistakes, and then there is legacy garbage Madden A.I. This seems like the latter.

Yea the run blocking has been an issue in Madden for longest esp the pulling guard and fb that usually run right by who they suppose engage and block resulting in lost of yards.

Not a real good look

What's crazy is, there are tackles for this exact situation that look great in this game but they don't play as often. It's unfortunate cause when the realistic ones play it makes the game look dope.

The RT was taking the outside, and I believe the RG was pulling inside, but got blocked; I believe the RG was to take Kuechly; looks like they were trying a Packer Sweep.

EDIT: On sceond look, the RG needed to take on the End.

That video was the first one that I think was bad. The offensive lineman doesn't even attempt to block Kuechly.

2 things that I think could fix this issue:

1. Offensive AI improvement to pick up assignments.


2. Improve Block Shedding animations so the gap made by blocking can be pushed/closed by above avg. to elite defenders. If a good Def. Player sheds Lft or Rght then that will close the hole or he'd shed and make the tackle.


I think thats 18 wishlist material that needs too much code work for a patch but it's partly already in game, it just need adjusting to fit with player ratings. EA could just be nervous if they make the game TOO realistic that casual fans won't get enough big plays every possession to keep playing every year. I say make the game for fans that actually Football for once in this ps4 generation, I have faith.
