To be fair, I live near Orlando, about 90 minutes west near the gulf. But I've also been all around California, and one Florida summer would be enough for me to run for the hills if I lived in SD all my life.

Well if that fact sheet equals an overhaul or a major overhaul, then Connected Franchise mode has been overhauled every year.

An overhaul or major overhaul, as well as even minor improvements/upgrades of the NFL Franchise Mode in Madden, should mean advancing the NFL realism of it. So when the numerous bullet points of those fact sheets result in only incremental advances in NFL realism to CFM, that's not a Franchise mode major overhaul or overhaul.

When Franchise mode was first added, in Madden 1999 I believe, it seems clear that the goal was to replicate/emulate NFL Franchises, playing through multiple seasons. Fast forward to M05 and the game arguably reaches its' peak of that goal but then we have the M06 debacle, looking at blank screens heading into new consoles. Skip ahead again to M12, even though much of the NFL realism is adding back things that were already in Franchise mode in the past and missing some others, at least NFL realism still seemed to be the goal. Then we get Connected Careers mode in M13, which is touted as a way for them to advance Superstar, Franchise and Online Franchise mode at the same time, so none would be neglected. However what it actually turned out to be was EA Tibs attempt at "the first true sports RPG", which is where the wheels come off the Franchise mode bus.

Franchise mode has always been associated with NFL realism and depth in Madden, tourney gamers, casuals, hardcore or whatever label, know that Franchise mode has always been about that NFL life. RPGs and sports sim games both existed in 1999 when Franchise mode was established, so I don't see how EA Tib can remove Franchise mode, create a new true sports RPG mode in Madden 13 and label that Franchise mode after gamers complain about wanting Franchise mode back, without those established expectations being met.

Imo, they should either focus more on NFL realism in CFM or create a separate true Franchise mode.
