I think this is more a case of banter/chemistry not meeting their expectations than them saying it does not exist at all.

I'm guessing some people saw the in-depth look at the commentary process and expected a genre-defining leap forward to be present in-game rather than it being mostly a process improvement (meaning it's something that will increase in payoff over time rather than be a huge year-one leap).

That said, I agree in that I can also easily find a difference just by watching videos and, to me at least, it appears to be a significant improvement (which is why I think it's perhaps an issue of expectations being too high).

Re: IGN : Madden NFL 17 Review

I can see the point RH made for sure about his voice but that's not what these reviews are mentioning as the negatives and what they are mentioning is puzzling to me. Oh and the heavy.com review is the one talking about how Nantz and Simms sound better lol.

Re: IGN : Madden NFL 17 Review

IGN isn't a credible source. It's like Buzzfeed or The Daily Mail.

I don't trust their one guy to know what I want in a FB game.

He won't know enough about real FB to properly review it.

There are other better reviewers out there.

The best one is me. Lol. I know what I like

there are some haters give this game : 0/10 because they noticed that there nothing news in Madden 17 sound like they mean this game is exactly same from 16. i replied them back " hey, you guys are blind. there are new things in Madden 17 : new special moves for ball carrier to run, new gap plays, zone coverage is overhauled, new ball physics, new fake plays on special teams and new swat mechanic "

I think that's probably fair, to an extent, as one might not be able to notice if the improvements are a virtue of new tech or the new team (for most of us, it's probably both).

The fact that he didn't better qualify that makes it muddled of course, but that was kind of the tone of the whole review. It was generally vague and organized more like the type of impressions post you'd see here rather than a formal review (Plus, outside of a few details, I feel like I could have written most of that just by browsing the available videos).

I feel like I'm missing something here. IS there anything revolutionary to the genre in your opinion? Or are you just confused why he threw that in at the end?
I'm confused why he said in the opening of the article:

This is quality football, and dare I say the best representation of the sport ever. Yes, NFL 2K fans, it’s time to just let it go.

At the end of the article:

It’s just nothing revolutionary to the genre.

Best representation of the sport ever vs nothing revolutionary?

Can you have it both ways?

I'm not saying there is anything revolutionary in Madden, some reviewers are saying commentary is, but to say it's the best representation of the sport ever, 2k fans, let it go, and then say nothing revolutionary to the genre seems a bit contradictory, in my opinion.

Re: Madden 17 Video Review by FranchisePlay

Excellent review, but he contradicted himself by giving such a low score. That was the only unbalance thing about it. Like you guys, I'm concerned about certain issues, but not others. I'm especially in agreement with regards to customization, where I'm indifferent on MUT for example.
