When you want to trade a player, which way gives you a better deal? Doing it manually, or tossing him on the trade block?

I got a better deal by doing a manual trade after seeing what teams were interested.

Re: Madden NFL 17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread

Should I be doing the extra XP bonuses (in pre-game practice) to "normal" or "superstar" rookies. I know I could get 300 XP to a guy like Elliot, but he is already gaining XP at higher rate. So should I take advantage of that, or be putting guys who have "normal progression" and trying to boost their stats?

Well corner routes and drag routes are specifically man beating routes. In this game, coverage ratings are very important and without a top tier secondary, you will struggle in one-on-one coverage. For example, play as the Cardinals and after every passing play, go into instant replay and watch Patrick Peterson in man coverage and watch their CB2 in man coverage. Peterson keeps square until the WR makes a real move, trails in perfect position, and always breaks on the ball. On the other side, the other corner gets juked pretty easily, can get out of position, and is sometimes late breaking on balls.

If you want tips on how to run man to man coverage, try calling a Cover 2 Man, then hot route both safeties into man coverage (for example, make your FS cover their #1 WR and your SS cover their TE). This will double team those receivers and make it much harder to pass to them. Be careful though, because you can get torched on the ground doing this.

I'll start with one of the most import ~3 hours of Madden 17 you may watch when starting off. It's long, but there is a TON of info on the a lot of the new gameplay systems (including Anthony White spinning your head on new zone coverages).

Start at 5:28:00 and goes until about 8:24:00

I don't know if a lot of people are watching this video but if they aren't then they are really sleeping on this. A lot of valuable information and a lot of questions answered.

Yeah. He ain't lying. This is the good part of twitch stream. And, 6:30 gets into zone coverage. Cover 3 match, pattern matching in general. They show good replays and what not breaking it down.

Watching this increases my respect for the Madden devs. They do take this stuff very seriously and try to solve legacy issues. The OL/DL interactions are still woeful, though.

Interesting here that the invisible wall that people report when blitzing was actually a dev decision to nerf nano blitzes. That and the don't-taze-me-bro animation. I CANNOT agree with that solution, though: it tries to solve bad line code by lobotomizing control.

The tiered RB moves based on ratings and the steerable moves look awesome.

I really think a PDF manual that tells users under-the-hood stuff would make gameplay so much more enjoyable and less frustrating. Knowing that taking control of the DB when the ball is in the air activates a bonus based on ratings -- who knew that? I miss the days of old PC manuals that were like books and really took time to explain things to the CUSTOMERS. Print manuals might be impossible, but why not PDF's?

Re: Madden NFL 17 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread

any tips for juking with runningbacks? i cant make a guy miss to save my life. i can truck guys all the time but never fake them out. i try the quick jukes, precision jukes, spins, everything. at first i thought it was because ryan mathews is more of a power back but ive done at least 20+ punt returns with darren sproles and ive never juked out a single guy
