And again, for those commenting, this shouldn't affect all positions equally. As designed, different positions are going to get hits at different times. RBs are much earlier than QBs and OLs, for example.

How about elite QB's retiring too early? Last year, Tom Brady would always retire after the first or second season no matter what.

Re: Regression in 17

Fitz had his stats drop off due to poor QB play, you won't see film of Fitz with bad drops and sloppy routes. Calvin retired yes, but it's not like he retired after a 500 yard season. If the regression is truly like described in this thread then you will see elite older WRs drop in areas they simply shouldn't drop in- catching, route running, etc. instead they should be dropping in speed, accel, agility, and jumping. Right now they drop in the physical and mental aspects w age.

I can see the drops in physical attributes, but AJ will still have incredible hands when he's 60+ years old, don't think his catching attributes should drop that much so early.

What about his "technical" attributes like route running and release? Did he lose any player traits too?

Your article seems to be all fantasy football based with fantasy football production. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with players dropping in their ability. They even talk about WR's dropping because of QB play. It's all about who to draft in your FF League.

Do you have anything else, maybe from the NFL, that describes WR's peak ages?

Re: Regression in 17

So a WR is going to lose 2 speed every season starting at age 29 no matter what? Or am I misunderstanding this.

If so, that's weak. IMO. Not a fan of this system if that is the case.

This is what would be more concerning to me. Standard losses across the board is garbage. If one guy losses 0 speed and another losses 3, I would be ok with that.

Re: Regression in 17

I had the opposite problem. The only regression I had was my punter. Not even 36 year old Romo had any.
