Check this out as well

For some reason, the CPU gameplans are weak in Season One and set smarter after the first post season, when the AI recalibrates everything...

This has (unfortunately) been the case for years...

In short:

I (often) use generics in Season One and Team Default from Season Two on...
Generics may be a good idea for Defense also.
We can always go into the generics and see the star ratings for each play and see the significant differences between them and the default teams PBs.

This is the key to taking the game to the next level.. Biggest flawys IMO have been not being able to tell the difference between QBs besides power, inconsistent pass rush from the DL and lack of variety of play calling by CPU...

What I don't understand, why hasn't anyone at EA been informed of this and had one of their guys go through and implement it? I imagine it would be a hell a lot easier for them to know this out instead of us... Not even as detailed as Van is doing, just to the point where it encourages the team to take advantage of their playbook...

Matter of fact why wouldn't they pick your brain on how to execute it? No different then NBA 2K did with da_czar... Look at the next level that has taken that game since!!

I agree with you 100%. I'm not sure they do know about it although Clint did say something on Twitter awhile back about wanting to get to individual team schemes in the future. They should hire someone like da czar for madden to do this job. When the plays are added and put to situations it's amazing the difference you will see with a tom Brady, Arron Rodgers, etc. I hope 1 day they hire someone to just do playbooks. Game changer!

Yes!
It is helping bring the CPU to another level!
To implement it, just takes time and data.
I'm using replays of real games to get more in detail on what teams are calling.
Also using Madden Prima Guides(really helpful info on each team) from 16 and 17 as of tomorrow.

It's a star system, so re-rating plays...
Still debating how I want the star system?
Use all 5 stars when?
Use half a star when?

-Removing like plays (4 verticals is sometimes in a teams gameplan 6 or more times w/ 5 star rating!?!)

-Adding the strategy(listed in Madden Prima guides)plays for each team.

-Sad not seeing ANY Shot-plays in my teams default gameplan but they have how many 4 verticals?

See the CPU gameplans just really need a fine tuning, I could do it faster if it was my full-time job lol.

I'm going to fix multiple issues from a cpu playcalling standpoint.
I would like to get a consensus on the star rating system and how we should be using it.

Thanks for any feedback, much appreciated.

Re: Madden 17 Everything Playbooks (custom) for the CPU or user

New England Patriots offensive playbook is up on madden share under vannwolfhawk206. I also went thru all 32 teams and got rid of all play actions on 3rd and long as well as cut a lot of 4 verts from situations. I still wanted them to have a few in 3rd and 4th and long but not 12 out of 20 plays being 4 verts. So, if you guys want to use those as a base with all that already done to save you time I can upload them all. I'll just put pre book ready on those. This is xbox1 By the way...

I just got done with the Patriots and I did it differently this time (from the panthers book) to be consistent with how madden had its stars set up. For example on 2nd and medium they had all runs and pass plays star rated a 2 1/2. I added plays from every formation and on 2nd and medium I kept them at a 2 1/2. On 2nd and short or 3rd and short they had runs rated 4 stars and passes 1 1/2. Again I kept it the same. It's the opposite on passing downs like 3rd or 2nd and long. I'm assuming there had to be something in the code for them to mix up and why they have some rated as they do. What I did do though is I gave gronk (where he is the primary receiver in the route) a play added and I might put a extra star on it if it was a really good play to get him the ball. Another example is I gave his play where he go's on a fade in the end zone 5 stars and differentiated from EA with those type of plays. I think this is the way to go to stay consistent with all playbooks... Just an idea...
