So I keep trying to set up a CFM with a few friends of mine. However before we can all sign up, the CPU starts wheeling and dealing with the rosters. Is there any way to prevent them from doing this until everyone is assigned their proper teams?

I don't believe so.. I've seen the CPU release players as soon as you create a league. From what I can tell, it's all players who are low rated with 0 guaranteed money so at least it doesn't hurt their cap
