Set up for beginning a Franchise

Hi all,

I've been playing an online franchise and have been generally having a good time, however I wish I had done offline so I could change the CPU's playbooks and such. Getting a little tired of them running it every 1st and 2nd down, then Four Verts on 3rd, so I've been been playing the moments or only offense.

Anyhow, I was just thinking having a post where we could get all the general settings together that improve franchise or are somewhat necessary to have (playbooks, time settings, trait changing, XP Sliders, etc.) would be useful for people starting up new franchises.

Custom Playbooks
It is recommended to play offline so you can change the CPU's playbook in order to get a better experience.

Sack Total Issues
Apparently down the road in franchise, the sack totals are unrealistically low. This is because all rookie QBs have the "Ideal" trait for sensing pressure, so be prepared to edit some of their traits each year.

I don't do playbooks but I do fiddle with coaches (see the coaching carousel bit of my forum thread)...


15min quarters with run off to 16sec.


CPU Progression set to monthly (4 weeks).


Sliders I am still playing with, the gameplay took some steps forward to hard pinning down challenging yet fair sliders.

I'm currently editing all PB's and removing all verts. Then will start a 32 team CFM and assign PB's to each team.

Can you elaborate on the time setting please? Just wondering if you use that to sim, to play, to play the moments or whatever.

I thought that you can only put in playbooks game by game and not in team settings.

Are you doing this for ps4 or xb1?
