How to play Coach Mode?

You should be able to go back to play the moments. If you see the lock on it wait until the playcall screen comes up and press L3 (PS4).

I tried that for the kick off at the beginning of the game but it just sat there.

Just a head's up- in coach mode human QB's won't scramble on their own. You can either live with that, or take control in situations where your QB should tuck and run.

I thought I read they do if on all madden. Anyway, I can't get it to work. I finally get the ball on offense after the opposing team had it and the QB just sits there after I call the play. So I switched to slow sim mode where I can watch the sim but can't call the plays. Bummed

EDIT: I got it, you have to hike the ball too.

I like playing offense for both teams like I used to do in NCAA. In play now mode you have the option to switch back and forth and control both offenses. However in franchise it is disabled. Any ideas on work around? Do you need two controllers or something?

So I've played a couple CPU vs CPU games, a couple times I finished in coach mode. The last game, 15 minute quarters, great game, in cpu mode and in the 4th qtr the game hangs. I close the game down since it's locked up. Going back and restarting Madden 17 I get the notification that I can continue the game, luckily. Whew.
