Draft much harder this year

Were we given a lot more points to scout last year? Seems like it. I did my 1st draft this year and barely had any scouted prospects left by the 5th round. I was doing a lot of blind picking. I will need to invest in the scouting trait for my coach.

Also seems like the CPU drafts better because i was not getting the guys i wanted.

I typically scout by position and player type rather than starting at the top. If I'm using the Cowboys, I'm not going to bother wasting scouting points on first and second round running backs because I already have Elliot. If I need pass rushers, I'm not going to waste points on 3-4 DE's. You're never going to have enough points to scout everybody so you need to be smart with how you spend your points.

The main difference is the most expensive trait being first instead of last...

In 16 if the first trait was a C+ you didnt bother checking the other 2 traits. If you get a C+ now, you still used 15 pts.

I go through first just checking the first trait. It has to be good for me to check the 2nd trait.

You have to determine your needs then scout the player type that fits those needs for you. Playing as CLE, I needed everything but focused on improving the defense and getting a QB for the future after signing Ryan Fitzpatrick in free agency.

This is my class after a 4-12 2016 season with CLE. Four of those guys start as rookies for my team in the 2017 season.

I'm having no issues.

First thing you need to do is determine what positions you need to draft. Then go through and scout only the guys that fit what you need. So in my franchise I run a 4-3, if I need DEs I don't scout 3-4 guys. I'm able to fully scout a lot of guys

Yeah, but you could scout 3-4 OLBs as DEs without breaking immersion. That happens "IRL." I got a stud 3-4 OLB whose OVR was 83 and he changed to an 84 on the switch. Was happy to see that it didn't jump to like a 90.

It might be harder but it's still way too easy.

Yeah. I guess i was carpet bombing like i did last year. My draft class was sub par with all my blind picks.
