    Importance of Strength

What role does the strength rating play in player interactions? Does it act as a modifier on block shed/power moves for defensive lineman? Or for a running back, does it increase the effectiveness of the stiff arm and truck move? So would a player with a 90 block shed but 80 strength be better or worse at shedding blocks than a player with a 80 block shed but 90 strength?

I think strength definitely plays a role in the game. Having said that, I think the scenario listed is almost too basic to really see any difference. Look at it like this. The player with 90 block shed is VERY good at getting off the block, so while he may only have 80 strength, I'm pretty sure there will be a + modifier that helps him get off blocks due to him having 90 rated block shedding. So, while I know it'd be really great if you could say better or worse, but with each situation, it's going to be different because you have to match them up to lineman who may or may not be above their own strength levels.

But, I can say that strength heavily influences just about every player. I had the pleasure of having a balanced RB in M16 who had 90 plus strength. He was a human wrecking crew.
Not to mention a SS that had 91 strength in game. Long story short, if he hit you, you would die, but strength does seem to play an integral part.
    VOL T VOL.....................
    Anymore questions?

My running back strategy in madden for years has been to get young fast running backs and work on their strength and trucking so that when they got older and their speed declines they will still have good seed but be busters.
