Re: WR'S

The developer's started to go with more realistic alignments, but then seemingly stopped halfway through.

WR positions are known as X, Z, Y, and slot.

The Y is usually the TE.

The X receiver lines up the side opposite the TE. He also lines up on the LOS.

The Z receiver lines up on the same side as the TE.

Most of the time the X receiver is a team's number 1 receiver.

So if you pick a "base" formation like I form or singleback doubles, the TE lines up on the right side of the offense. Therefor the X receiver is the one on the left side.

So EA said number 1 receiver on the left. But that is where they stopped. Making things worse is that if you flip the formation from the playcall screen, your X receiver becomes the Z, but the game doesn't actually swap the players.

Re: WR'S

Yeah I noticed this as well. Pretty frustrating that I now have to flip my CBs when calling plays where I want my #1 CB on their #1 WR

Re: WR'S

Put your number 1 cb at the number 2 slot in the depth chart and he covers the number 1 receiver

Re: WR'S

A lot of teams play a left and right CB as opposed to always following around the #1 WR. Should madden give you the option as to which you would like to play? Yea probably, but the way they have it now isn't 100% incorrect.

Re: WR'S

WR's get moved around so much now that having them in the same place in every formation is fairly unrealistic. Would be nice if they were moved around and we could choose to play specific match ups so our best cover corner would be on their number one.
