CFL in Madden

People talk about how there's "no market" for it. But, it's pretty big in Canada. And some of the rules might appeal to the more ADD addled American football fan.

Plus, people forget they made an Arena Football game or two back in the day. I think the CFL has more of a market than that.

Yup - that was the motivation for the thread, because I was curious if there was any news beyond the link above and what the commissioner said last year.

Skulsky is a real idiot. Totally disconnected from reality. Seemed like a great hire but has harmed the franchise.

I don't think it will happen because you'd have to re-do all the playbooks and change the AI. Seems like too much work for the Madden team which has just gotten their house in order. That said, I would LOVE IT. I know a lot of people that would buy that.

On another note, I wish the NFL would widen their fields. You could get rid of those ticky-tack DPI calls and you'd have less concussions. A wider field (and endzones) mean more open-field tackles and thus less concussions. It's so obvious which is why the NFL will never do it.

It would be nice if they fixed issues with this game before adding new content. Custom playbooks and relocation options where implemented and never improved on. The same issues that custom playbooks had when first introduced are still present. Also, for a company whose new motto is "we only have so much time in a development cycle" adding an entire new league would be quite the undertaking.
