It does happen and it pisses me off, because when make adjustments to my defense prior to the snap, I press RT to check to see where the play art is in relation to the first down marker.

VERY deflating to see when it's 3rd & 3 and this happens...

Thanks Reed. . Now I gotta re-train my muscle memory but hopefully it'll help. Last loss was a painful one.

I agree with Reed, I don't think the fake hike has anything to do with it. It's more likely you're just tapping R2 and not holding it. Tapping jumps the snap, holding (or "long-pressing") R2 shows play-art.

There actually have been times I've brought up the play-art right when the QB fake hikes, but other than a funky screen zoom-in/zoom-out motion, I never jump cause I hold it. The CPU fake hikes a lot too, so it's probably just coincidence instead of direct cause.

? It has everything to do with the fake hike. If I tap r2 when he doesn't fake hike it just shows the play art really quick.

You're missing his point.

Tapping r2 is the jump the snap command. It completely makes sense that if you try and jump the snap at the exact moment the QB does a fake snap that your DL would jump offsides.

As mentioned, holding r2 to view the playart will alleviate this problem for you.

I guess my point is I always hit r2 the same way and they seem to only go when the cpu fake hikes. Either way, I'm appreciative of everyone's help and explanation. I'll make sure to try and hold r2 for longer. Though I do hope they change the mechanic for future years.

I know what you're going through. It also happens when I tap RT to get back to the standard camera from the panned out view that you get when you make a pre-snap adjustment. I had to train myself to hold the button for a second instead of just tapping it.
