you have some piece of data not entered correctly for that person OR you are using a non-compatible version of excel

I just retyped everything and that fixed it. Infinite76 was right I suppose. Thanks for the help.

Re: Scouting Tool for Madden 17 CFM

Hi all,

First time poster but long time reader of this thread.

Big thanks to Old Man Nathy and everyone who has contributed to this process.

I'm currently playing a franchise using the "firesale" model. Got rid of everyone talented and have a lot of picks.

The first year was a success, basically scored my franchise QB, OL, shutdown corner and 2 elite WR (although 1 WR was a 7th round fluke).

I didn't cap but this was the breakdown of the last draft:

1 6 LT Bently 76 Normal
7 CB Levine 81 SuperStar
26 WR Drkwa 76 Normal
32 QB Balogh 72 Superstar
2 21 RG Peck 73 Quick
22 C Dillard 75 Quick
3 13 HB Streeter 68 Normal
14 FS Kirksey 71 Normal
4 9 MLB Shehee 77 Quick
26 RG Shivers 75 Normal
5 9 QB Faine 72 Quick
13 ROLBMcMillan 68 Normal
6 29 CB Cummings 64 Normal
7 29 WR Chase 68 Normal

This year I have the bulk of my picks. However, the draft class is not great.

I have some decisions I'd like to get opinions on, if anyone cares to chime in.

1. I'm planning on drafting a MLB to play in a 3-4 D. I currently have a Balanced MLB and need his offsider.

There are 2 very good MLB in the draft class, and it's splitting hairs between them. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts as to which might be the way to go.

Quincy Kitchens (Balanced)
PR: 1M
TR: 1M
Age: 23
Hit Power A-
Tackle B+
Pursuit B+
40: 4.65
VJ: 34.4
3 Cone: 7.01
Shuttle: 4.22
Bench: 24

TVR: 92.13

Josh Lassiter (Protoype)
PR: 1E
TR: 1E
Age: 22
Tackle B+
Block Shedding: B
Hit Power: B
40: 4.72
VJ: 35.4
3 Cone: 6.97
Shuttle: 4.23
Bench: 30

TVR:90.56

My thinking is while Kitchens has a higher TVR (just), is faster and better grades, Lassiter is younger, a prototype (vs balanced which I have), high block shedding and is stronger. Not to mention a better combine grade and higher talent round. Either way I'll be spending an early round 1 pick so just want to try and nail it best I can.

2. With the SS criteria, is it generous or conservative? I need a SS and my best bet is looking like grabbing a 94TVR FS and playing at SS. There are no draftable SS in the class. The reason I ask is the final grade for all is always a "C" whereas C+ is required to be draftable. If you list them as CB they become draftable.

The best SS is the Heisman winner. He is undraftable, however if you were to improve his C tackle to C+ he jumps to a 91TVR and #12 in the class.

I don't think I'd spend the pick on him just to find out as it's looking at 1E but curious for future drafts.

3. Has anyone come across the "looking at playing baseball" draft story? Does it have any impact? From day one of scouting the #1 player has been an absolute stud QB. Now he has fallen to 3rd Round projection due to baseball interest. I'm set at QB but would be hard to turn down with surplus of picks if he's sitting there in round 3.

Thanks for any and all input and apologies for the wall of text.

Re: Scouting Tool for Madden 17 CFM

As an addendum to my previous posts about SS. The criteria used can lead to the odd mix up/confusion over drafting status, in particular "One C+ from Zone Coverage, Play Recognition, Pursuit, or Tackle".

I have two SS. One has a TVR of 82 and is do not draft, the other is 76 and is a red chip.

They both have a lowest grade of 'C' (Tackle) with C+ as the 2nd grade. The DND player has C+ as Hit Power and therefore doesn't meet the criteria above. He does however have B- for Zone coverage which is worth twice as much as Hit Power.

Conversely, the Red Chip guy has a C+ Zone so he meets the criteria with a B+ Hit Power.

So a heads up it's worth double checking Red Chips or DND with high-ish TVR.

Re: Scouting Tool for Madden 17 CFM

Another great draft in part to the Scouting Tool.

This was the 2nd Draft in a "Firesale" CFM, so I had a lot of picks. A lot of First Round picks in particular, but as you will see every round had at least one great pick.

I can't emphasize the value of Draft Stories enough. Six of my picks involved guys mentioned in stories, including the best player in the draft. He was the best player by a long shot in all stages of scouting but fell to a projected 3rd round. While I have a Franchise QB, I couldn't pass him up or let anyone else have him so cheap.

Also, a player with a serious injury draft story came out as QUICK development. According to tool should have been normal or slow.

While it might seem unfair, the CPU makes some crazy trade offers. I had the #1 overall pic and parlayed it into an 80 OVR FS (#3TT), 77 OVR MLB(#20 TT), THREE first round picks next year as well as a 3rd, 4th and 5th next year, by trading down to 2, then 3 and then 9.

Some picks towards the end were taken as trades were declined. Happened a bit.

ROUND 1

Pick 4: HB 79 OVR Superstar #2 True Talent (1E- Blue Chip)

Pick 5: MLB 79 OVR Normal #9 True Talent (1E- Blue Chip)

Pick 6: CB 79 OVR Normal #7 True Talent (1L- Blue Chip)

Pick 9: FS 80 OVR Normal #3 True Talent (1M- Blue Chip)

Pick 11: Traded for #67 and #130 plus #11 2019

Pick 12: RE 78 OVR Superstar #10 True Talent (1L- Blue Chip)

Pick 27: Traded for a 1, 3 and 4 in 2019

Pick 32: Traded for #156 and a 1 and 3 in 2019

ROUND 2

Offers get crazy here.

Pick 2: Traded for a 1 in 2019

Pick 3: Traded for 1, 3 and 4 in 2019

Pick 7: QB 84 OVR Slow #1 True Talent (3E- Blue Chip)

Pick 9: Traded for a 1 and 5 in 2019

Pick 10: LG 73 OVR Normal #57 in True Talent (2L- Blue Chip)

ROUND 3

Pick 3: RT 76 OVR Normal #24 in True Talent (3L- Red Chip)

Pick 14: LE 78 OVR Quick #6 in True Talent (4M- Blue Chip)

Pick 23: MLB 77 OVR Superstar #20 in True Talent (5L- Blue Chip)

ROUND 4

Pick 6: FS 71 OVR Normal #76 in True Talent (5E- Red Chip)

Pick 32: RG 75 OVR Normal #46 in True Talent (6M-Blue Chip)

ROUND 5

Pick 2: HB 73 OVR Normal #54 in True Talent (5M- Red Chip)

Pick 18: SS 73 OVR Normal #45 in True Talent (6E- Red Chip)

Pick 32: ROLB 68 OVR Normal #99 in True Talent (6E- Red Chp)

ROUND 6

Pick 1: FB 69 OVR Superstar #115 in True Talent (6M- Do Not Draft)

Pick 11: CB 74 OVR Superstar #41 in True Talent (7E- Red Chip)

Pick 32: WR 64 OVR Normal #300 in True Talent (5L- Do Not Draft)

As you can see plenty of top 50 talent available in later rounds. Only pick I was disappointed in was the 73OVR LG. He was rated #16 on TVR and I passed up a lower ranked one who had a higher OVR, but the tool was spot on for every other pick.
