1. Do you save your points to scout until the day before the draft then plug in the information? I know this year they changed it and you lose points if you dont use them. I just don't understand how (with the limited number of scouting points) you can scout players so late into the rounds.

2. Do you only scout players that you need that way you save more scouting points?

3. To get the "draft status" info it looks like you have to fully unlock the player before they are listed as "Blue Chip Draft" "Red Chip" "Scout More"

Is that true?

Thanks for the info. I am very excited about this and will definitely upload my info to help you out. I just need to feel more comfortable using it.

Any Advice from anyone? Basically trying to figure out the best way to scout with the limited points we get. Thanks!

i scout every week based on need first and then as i have points i go to other positions. By the time the week before the draft rolls around. i usually have scouted everybody who i needed to. Now i also scout based on scheme AND i follow the instructions OMN provided with the tool. When and why not to scout certain people.

To answer #3, it all about the position. they are different. i would advice reading through the instruction blog. It will save you a lot of points and time. I think you are doing like me and scouting everyone in the beginning. you wont even make it through. Also i do things like i dont scout DT or OL under 300. It shrinks your talent pool but you know the people you are getting are going to be hitting (well atleast 90+ %, i still have some weirdos).

Okay so I have a question about this/drafting in general..

I don't have excel, so I can't edit this. This is my first CFM this year. My question is, before I go through finding a program to use it and doing all the scouting.. as a OFFLINE franchise user (not cloud. was necessary for how I do my fantasy drafts), is it possible for me to just create a seperate save point before the draft, sim through it.. look through the draft picks where they went, and basically just use that as reference for that previous save pre-draft? The picks might not be straight on again but it would be the same draft right?

I know thats pretty cheap but its basically a shortcut to this which is already cheap lol. I of course wouldn't draft a draft full of superstars as I already limit myself to certain things to keep is more realistic but do it to find who I want

I guess that would work but you can use google sheets. I think it works partially. Or try libre office

Basically, scout everyone's first trait except for WRs and CBs and FBs (only people with a projected round, no one projected undrafted). Then sort the sheet by draft status and scout the second trait of anyone listed as a potential blue chip. Then sort by draft status again and scout the 3rd trait of anyone still listed as potential blue chip. This should be completed somewhere around week 14 or so. For the rest of the time you can scout potential red chips at positions of need (just don't touch WRs or CBs yet). Once FA stage 2 hits and you can enter all the combine numbers, you can scout the WRs and CBs and still be able to finish scouting a few red chips.

Ok, just about every season during Super Bowl week, along with the All-Star game stories, I get a story of 'Xxx is a player that has been quietly rising up draft boards'. What story would you put this as?

Re: Scouting Tool for Madden 17 CFM

Just had a very unusual draft in my online CFM (full user league so I'm not getting 3 or 4 1st round picks and blue chips aren't dropping to round 4 or 5). This was our 3rd draft and for a change there were 4 blue chip and 2 red chip corners but ALL six are slow development! I got one who is a 78 overall, 89 speed, 91 accel, 84 man, 77 zone, 84 press, 73 play rec and 71 tackling. The Heisman trophy winner was a ROLB I snagged at the top of round 2 but he's slow (79 speed) but with star development, LB XP package and game prep he gets 2500XP a week and it's only 6300XP to boost his speed to 80, then get his play rec and awareness up, he has 85 power moves and 77 block shedding. Round 3 I pulled the 3rd rated QB, who while just 70 overall is also Superstar development (he was a red chip) but will develop fast and has a season to improve before I need him. Rest of draft pretty ho hum, got a solid route running depth WR, solid backup SS, another CB and a tiny WR with 96 speed. My drafts tend to run out of blue chips by early 2nd round, and even red chips after that are few and far between.
