You're welcome, glad it's helped.

Yeah that's an interesting suggestion and something I've thought about before, but it feels like a different tool the complements the scouting tool rather than something that's part of it. But it's definitely something I'll look at doing eventually, particularly if EA expose an API that can automatically populate some of this stuff...
I understand. The work you've done here is awesome so I have nothing but praise. But I think I did a poor job explaining, so...

My thought was that there might be some players in the current draft class that are on the cusp of draft-worthiness that could help fill out a team's roster when your team's current roster is pretty stacked. Say you only need to draft a known backup FS instead of a potential starter, because your current FS is under contract for another 4 years and has proven to stay durable. You wouldn't necessarily reach for that FS in middle rounds. You'd wait until the 6th or 7th to get him, knowing he's only a placeholder pick.

In other words, the "do not draft" designation, I assume, means that any player falling into this category would never reach starter status, but some players on the cusp could still be inexpensive role players, depending on the build of the roster. My idea was simply to add data to the spreadsheet that modifies this "do not draft" designation based on the makeup of your current roster and contract status of each player. This is something I do now from memory, so it's not mission critical for your tool. Just a convenience.

Anyhow, keep up the great work! Very grateful!

OMN, that is really exciting about working on a web-based application! Can't wait to see where this continuous process of updates and possible new frontiers takes your tool in the future! Also, the possibility of full/partial auto-population would be so great. I enjoy the process of filling in the spreadsheet (and I often fill in every draftable prospect instead of only using the default scouting points available) but it definitely is tedious and time-consuming. Not getting my hopes up for this, but would be a really cool thing if EA would provide integration options for the community. It is 2016 after all.

OldManNathy... loving the tool thanks for the time invested in creating this and sharing.

as i just stumbled across it and had already been scouting the WR/CB positions i got a question for you regarding a cb i scouted and added to your sheet pre-combine.

he is 22 6'2 and has the following attributes ZCV(B) MCV(B-) and Press(B-) projected and talent both have him as a 4E.

does this indicate he will have bad stats/skills elsewhere or low combine grades?

No he's probably a great value pick. He may end up with bad combine grades, but if he grades out at the combine he will be a good mid-round pick.

Thanks yea now with the tool I'm anxious to get to the combine I don't need a starter but could use a upgrade at the nickel back so I'm hoping he might be there in the mid 3rd don't wanna reach to much but seems like with the age height he might be a steal

Yeah what Burth said. He sounds like a potential steal in the 4th round. Don't read too much into Projected/Talent rounds unless the talent round is Undrafted. But you might also want to check if he has any negative draft stories, because a major injury, getting kicked off the team etc. could cause a top guy to slip to the middle rounds (but sometimes get slow dev as a result).

For this, I'd say just draft red chip guys. A player below 70 OVR isn't going to be much use even as a backup in normal circumstances, and you can usually find some red chippers in the late rounds for most positions.

Yeah let's hope so. It's inexcusable that they took away the app.

Re: Scouting Tool for Madden 17 CFM

Blatant cross post here, but I figured the regulars in this thread might appreciate this and there's a risk they'd miss it if I don't post it here too . I

---

I've done a CFM presentation for a new 49ers career I've started. Basically, I'm playing as the GM (simming every game) and trying to rebuild San Francisco through the draft and free agency without cheesing the CPU to keep it interesting. Had a terrible first season and now have the top pick in the draft, but I need your help to tell me what to do with it! So let me know who you think I should take at number one.

Whoever you lot (and Reddit, where I've also posted a link to this) tell me to take at #1 is who I will select! The power is in your hands...
