Re: Having Trouble Running

Even after the patch with my run blocking at zero I run for about 2-3 hundred yards a game at around 7 per carry.... using the Raiders. Waaaay too easy :/

Re: Having Trouble Running

Im finding success using the Oline slider the way you want to run. Then they actually block the right guy

The "get skinny" feature...
LMAO XD.

Does that really work? I've heard people saying that higher Ball Carrier Vision (BCV) causes your RB to try and "muzzle in" tight spots on the line to advance foward.

I honestly didn't know the user could do that.

Re: Having Trouble Running

What slider do I adjust to make running easier? Also what is a good number to adjust it to?

thanks

Yeah I find it really works well. It opens up the inside running game.

I have obviously not seen you play, but I would guess that maybe you're trying to do too much. I haven't had trouble running the ball with the latest patch. Patience, patience, patience.

I'll have to share a long TD run I had last night but it was up the middle and wasn't just straight line speed the entire time. I hit the hole made a cut, bounced off someone and then was gone.

Re: Having Trouble Running

This seems to be a complaint every year and they do absolutely nothing to fix it

which isn't surprising at all

Re: Having Trouble Running

You would have to post videos of your runs to know what specific advice would help you the most. Many in this thread have already addressed most of what I would say, but I used to struggle running early on and now it's a major part of my game.

Here are some essentials:

- Turn special moves to MANUAL otherwise your guy will dance around instead of hitting the hole
- Only use R2/RT (accel boost) when you're in the open field
- Complete the running tutorials. This is HUGE and can't be over-stated. You have to learn the blocking concepts, reads, and running strengths. When you know how to run to a formation strength or alignment advantage, you also know when to NOT run it. Understanding this allows you to audible out of bad run plays or to flip when necessary. Every run has a focal point. Once you learn it, you become better at getting through the first level.
- Make sure your ball-carriers have the "fight for yards" trait so they don't drop instantly when they're tackled.
- Be prepared to "button mash" when the tackle fight prompt comes up. Even if you pick the wrong button, keep pressing it and you'll often fall forward for an extra yard. On PS4 I often press "X" on contact and will get an extra yard or two out of it -- not sure that there's any science behind it, but it works for me.
