Roughing the Passer Penalty

All of my roughing the passer calls seem to come from hitting the QB low. Never get them for late hits when I think I might. I've also never seen the CPU get one ever.

I'm thinking about turning it off for my franchise. Thoughts?

Technically diving at the QB's legs is roughing the passer IRL which is why you're getting that penalty. I've gotten plenty for late hits too.

I just got called for roughing the passer called I was engaged with tackle and I broke free dove at qb and got flagged.

Ive seen worst hits on qb and nothing called ...I even did some testing after that call i was hitting the qb after ball was gone late see if anything called not one call.

I've seen qb's get hit low and up ended on their heads and no flags .

Funny thing is I was just about make post about this issue.

Yeah I know it's a penalty, but it's really thwarted my defense a few times while the cpu never has it called. It's not fair imo

I get this called on me once every five or six games but it's a fair call and is my own fault every time. It usually comes from pressing square (on PS4) to do a power move on the Tackle but pressing it after he has already disengaged so instead the player dives at the QB and clips his shins.

It's an irritating call and not one that I'd ever expect to see called against the AI because it isn't a conscious decision to go for the sack down there.

From what I see in the NFL most of the Roughing the Passer penalties are called for hitting the QB in the head. Madden does not seem to have any head to head detection or resulting penalties so all we get in the game are low hits or blatantly late hits.
