Rookies Regressing

Anybody else have this issue?
My 22 year old hb lost -2 awr cause he didn't have over 4ypc. (He has 4.4 on the year)

This happened during week 15.

It's just part of regression. I'm not entirely sure how it works but I think if a player doesn't meet a game goal he is at risk of regressing. I saw another one like this where a LG went down because the team didn't rush for over four YPC. It's pretty stupid IMO.

Its a nice idea but not sure I like how it was implemented. I get that players who do not play well or get time may lose confidence, but not sure they lose skill. One of a slew of many things in franchise that are interesting in theory but miss the mark in execution.

Rb regressing for failing to have 4 yards a carry is constant in my franchise.

This is not as bad as everyone makes out in terms of implementation.


Just look a T-Rich. He entered Madden as a pretty high rated rookie, after 1 season with the Browns and 2 with the Colts where he had a very poor average the Madden system would have kept regressing him appropriately. He may have started out Super Dev but by now would be slow Dev for constantly missing season goals etc.

Wow....that IS kinda silly that it happened.

I seen one first round rookie regress due getting a MAJOR Injury in the preseason.


-2 to various attributes.
And his team didn't make the playoffs so his confidence plummeted too.

Man, talk about brutal.

For me it's not superstar development guys it's happening to. One game where a back averages 3.9 yards a carry, which is just above nfl average I believe, he regresses. It happens mostly to back ups who don't get many carries. My starters get enough xp to get the awareness back but backups are just using xp to make up for regression. Not a huge deal but annoying.
