Tackle Battle : What are your post release thoughts?

IMO, there were other aspects of the game that the Madden Developers could have concentrated on instead of coming up with another gimmick such as Tackle Battle. They should have been concerting their efforts more on Line Interaction/Play, More Realistic Player Attributes, Better variety with injuries and games missed because of injuries, QB Accurracy, Working Auto Subs, etc.... No, but instead, they throw in another feature to try and wow us, hoping that it will take our focus off of the short comings of this game that they still cant get right year after year. Smoke and Mirrors is the oldest trick in the books for trying to get past issues that plague anything.

Disappointed to see that "Hate It", isn't one of the poll choices...

It's gimmicky, leads to some suction-y / sticky animations and clutters up the screen...

Smells like "Marketing Department Cheeze" to me...

I'd hazard a guess at all the sim-friendly focus points this year they needed a "back-of-box" cheese feature as a compromise with the marketing team :P

Never use it, would be nice if they gave us the option to remove it from displaying on your TV.

Off topic - I HATE the spin move going into the defender where the defender always slips. He literally spins into him not the one where it plants the foot and spins the opposite direction. Sorry, needed to vent.

I don't mind it. Sometimes it does create some wow moments and it does add some variety to ball carrier interactions, which is cool. But definitely could have been done in a much less gimmicky way. Having an option to let the CPU determine the winner of the tackle battle based on ratings would have been very nice.

Absolutely hate it. Have never thought that button mashing should play such a big part in a tackle interaction.

Hated it. Felt contrived and unnecessary. The insta-breaks in animations looked really bad and unnatural when battle wins were triggered as well.

As an offline player winning a battle on offense vs. the CPU just felt cheap and undeserved. On defense it was fine but my main issue was the direct conflict it would pose with using the tackle buttons. I don't know how many times I would come up and press either A or X to make a tackle only for the tackle battle to trigger an immediate loss instead.

At the end of the day it was a minor thing in most games but something I wish would have had an option provided for rather than completely dismissed.
