RB pass blocking flaw

On pass plays, I've noticed numerous times that the RB (from shotgun) runs up to the LOS, and ends up blocking no one. Which leads to a huge sack.

My thought is that they should stand by the QB and block the MDM (Most Dangerous Man).

Has any one else experienced this?

Over and over again RB'S stand and watch the rusher go right by. I also watch OL run past a DL that they should block on run plays.

for a HB to be good at pass pro, they need to have high pass block & high AWR.

To be good yes. But if nothing else even a poor blocking back will make some contact with a rusher, even if its minimal.

Why would he need those to make an attempt to block someone? I don't expect some scrub running back to pancake Aaron Donald but at least move towards him.

You think one of the patches messed it up? I haven't pinpointed which one, but I know for a fact it was this bad at the start.

Re: RB pass blocking flaw

High awareness is what governs if they "see" the rushers. Low awareness players will miss more blocks
