I'm glad that you've posted on this. I definitely feel like there is a momentum system, but since it can't be measured in any truly objective way, there has been no point in arguing with the devs on Twitter when they say that there isn't.

There is definitely something that alters the win/loss probability of the dice roles during games so that players are playing way above or below their ratings. I don't have a problem with it, I just wish that the team could see that it was there.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Yes there is for sure something there, hidden somewhere, maybe not even known to them. But you ask people in 32 man leagues , that plays alot of seasons per year.... all the owners will tell you they see it,even when they are the team that wins . Its not like its just guys who lose that see this , even the guys who win see it ,so its alot more to it , than just someone trying to rationalize why they lost.

And im speaking from over 50 seasons of madden experience in Franchise mode since madden 12 and its been there every year.

Having any sort of "pre-determined victory" or even "pre-determined favorite" for an online user-vs-user game would completely undermine the legitimacy of any e-sport match outcome before any game is ever played and would destroy the competitive scene before it gets off the ground.

It's just not there.
The only possibility at all for any "picking" is that there is a momentum weight as the game goes on, and only if it's left over from years past. In other words, it wouldn't be the game picking a winner before hand. It'd be more like after a series of events the dice rolls stack against a team.

Now, we KNOW there is at least one form of this IF player confidence is dynamic (like in Madden 25, for example, when players become cold or on fire based on events in the game). Otherwise, it doesn't seem like a very feasible thing.

I'll never understand people who think they know the code better than the developers.

I'm not sure if the developers knows what code is what from legacy coding to present coding.

Re: Do you think Madden "picks" winners of games??

I don't think in MUT, DC, or regular head to head there is any boost to either team. I think a dev did say there is some home field advantage percentage in CFM though. One of those things was a cold weather team playing at a warm weather stadium.

I think they also said some teams have a better home field advantage.

I'm not sure what the % is though.

I do not believe the game picks.

In the league I'm in every year the best players find a way to win and so if the game decided they would lose more.

This is one of the great challenges and the developers have admitted to it. They don't fully know exactly what everything does and what everything is tied to because it's such a tangled web.

Re: Do you think Madden "picks" winners of games??

I don't think the game picks winners but I do think it makes things go wrong. Especially, in the fourth quarter. Over half of all passing yards against me through over a hundred games happens in the fourth quarter. Almost all of my non qb fumbles, likewise are in the fourth. I know the developers say they just try harder to score but blitzes are picked up and the wr will be 20 yards downfield before my unblocked linebacker can cover the five yards to the qb. It has been this way for years. It is what it is.
