CFM - Signing UDFA

The CPU actually signs players before you ever get a chance, so you don't really need to wait to feel like you're being fair.

This is probably my best udfa ever. Started the season his rookie year as my number five but was on the field most of the year do to injuries. He took advantage of his opportunity and never looked back. I sim all but 4 games a season so it's not due to me feeding him the ball.

Wait, really?

I always assumed the opposite was true and waited until week 2 of preseason to sign any UDFA's... how did you confirm?

cool. though with WR, it's fairly easy to turn an average guy into a HOF.

yes, i've confirmed it. guys on the board when i'v taken mr irrelevant are on teams before i look at the UDFA pool.

also, during pre-season week 1, i take control of every HC (one at a time) & roll through their roster fixing a few things. during this process, FA will be signed by other teams even though i'm not advancing to the next week.

That's good to know, as I was worried I was cheesing the CPU by signing a couple of 70-73 rated UDFAs in the first week of pre-season.

do't get me wrong, you have an advantage over the CPU when it comes to getting UDFA but it's not the slam dunk of getting whoever you want.

like i said, i have found some really good UDFA (one WR at 78 OVR who is now 75 OVR after one season) i've turned, maybe, a dozen UDFA pass rushers into starters.
