CFM - Signing UDFA

About to start year 2 of my CFM, simmed the first and went to Cincy as they fired Marvin Lewis. Only question I have is how what are creative ways to realistically sign UDFAs? I dont want to be able sign the best at each position, but dont really have an idea on how to do it realistically. Any ideas?

Re: CFM - Signing UDFA

I sign by needs and their attributes.

If I want a 3rd down receiving back I'd sort for the best catching and go from there. For a pure pass rusher, I'd sort for PMV or FMV.

There's alot of potential UDFA WRs that have amazing catching, but 50 awareness. So they fall down the list.

Re: CFM - Signing UDFA

I only sign based on physical traits for their position. For example, any offensive linemen with 90 strength or 87 strength and 77 acceleration for interior linemen. Half back with 90 speed, 90 acceleration, 90 agility. These are developmental players for me that have the physical skills but need some learning.

What I do to avoid signing all those superstar dev UDFA is. a) only look for players at positions I need. b) only look at their attributes do not view the player card.

Have you guys found players with Superstar Development as an UDFA? I've looked and so far haven't found anyone yet, although I haven't looked really in depth.

Re: CFM - Signing UDFA

Same thing I do for the draft: They have to fit either my scheme or player type.

So if I'm running a West Coast offense with a power back type at running back, I can only sign running backs either from a WC scheme or a power back type.

Last offseason, I signed one quick WR dev UDFA and one superstar dev DE plus a WR with 78 OVR. Nice haul. Two went to my PS.
