Player Body Types need to be far more varied for Madden '18

Madden 17's player models are graphically and technically impressive in terms of detail, lighting, textures, etc. However, they seem too similar from one player to the next with only height, weight, and muscle definition offering any real at-a-glance variety.

I suggest EA improve this by implemening the following for Madden 18:

Preset options to form a base body type:
- Base body type categories: Skinny, Normal, Large, Fat
- Sub body type templates: top-heavy, bottom-heavy, normal
- Muscle defintion types: Ripped, Normal, flabby

Slider adjusted options for further customization:
- Upper Torso vs Leg length ratio
- Arms (width, depth and Length)
- Shoulders (width, depth)
- Chest (depth, width)
- Abdomen (width, depth)
- Thighs (Width, depth)
- Calves (Width, depth)
- Feet (length)

With these options - along with height and weight adjustments... at the hands of the developers and users...the visual, on-field realism of the player models would be off the charts...far exceeding that of this year's models. Coupled with improved player movement and interaction, Madden 18 would be leaps and bounds more visually impressive on the field than any of its predecessors.

While I agree that updating player body types would be visually better, I would like to see the team spend their time, priority and resources more into CFM, game play and more signature animations.

I wasn't suggesting they prioritize this over other features. How they allocate their resources and time is up to them. However, if they could implement this then it'd be a welcomed upgrade, especially in terms of customization for the user.

Would be nice to just have body type settings. For example, 3-4 Pass Rusher would have long arms, be decently tall, etc, while 3-4 Nose Tackle would be short and have large, think legs. If they just added default body types and let weight as as more an ingame mechanic than visual thing, and let height only chsnge the overall size of the player, it would make the game look more realistic.

And of course, let you use any body type you want for any position, so editing DeForest Buckners weight doesn't turn him into a fatty.

This seems like a no brainer

Madden in the mid 2000's (it was in 05' for sure) had the best body editor to date. It was not as in-depth as the OP is requesting but closest I can remember. I believe that game also had home/away and grass/turf equipment options in player editor.

From the Madden 18 vids that have come out from EA Play, I'm seeing more varied body types.

Would anybody agree/disagree?

100% agree. Lineman look bigger, tyrell pryor really stood out as a big wide receiver.
