I too used to only use trade block. I would put a guy up, and pick from the offers. Unfortunately, the offers were always draft picks.

I've done 2 manual trades. My rule is they have to be fair.

If I remember correctly, I gave up 2 first rounders and a 2nd rounder for an 85 2nd year DE with superstar development. That felt realistic for me. I gave up A LOT, but it was a big need for my team.

I also gave up a #1, #2, and a 75 Free Safety (24 years old, terrible man coverage) for Byron Jones (87 ovr, 27 years old, great man coverage). It felt realistic too. I gave up a lot again, but it filled a major need and brought Byron Jones back to Dallas, so it felt right.

I use a lot of these already (trade block trades only, draft pick calculator) but I also do one other one that I think makes it a little more real.

For FA I only allow myself to make one offer per player per week. No going up bit by bit so my team is in front. The cpu can only offer once so I want to be on par with them.

I do this as well. Really makes you think about your contracts when you see a free agent you want that has a bid of 100+ points on him.
