Retirement Trick

I know in CFM you can edit the ages of players to keep them from retiring (i.e. Tom Brady) or make them retire early (i.e. Zach Orr & Pat McAfee) but I've noticed that the maximum age is 40. I am curious if there is anyway to make that higher? I want to do this for guys like Adam Vinatieri or Matt Bryant because they're both over 40 and haven't mentioned retiring. I don't know if I edit their ages down if when I go back to edit them the system will recognize their birthday and make the age correct or if I just have to let them retire prematurely? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't believe the system recognize their original date of birth..what I have done is change age to say 27 week 17 just to make sure it doesn't get "locked in" to whenever the game makes the decision to retire..once they move past retirement phase, I put their age back to whatever it is..with Brady he has been 40 now for two years straight lol..just isn't getting older..lol

a player's age is advanced during his team's last game of the season. for example, if the team isn't going to the playoffs, its players get older immediately after week 17. if you go to the SB, your players get older immediately after the SB.

just edit the age prior to your last game or in week 16 to be sure.

Are retirements after year 1 consistent? Like is it always the same players or does it vary?

It will vary but not by much. Players will begin to retire at different ages (I assume it's based on position, as QBs tend to stick around longer), but most will retire the first time they are more or less 'eligible'.
