I pre-ordered Madden 18; I've enjoyed the past few Maddens so I'll enjoy this one too. Mind you we don't have many details atm, but there isn't anything that will change my mind.

What's the point ? The game is never sold out when you go to buy it on release day, and now you can buy it digitally. You can't play it until 12:00 midnight on release day anyway, so what's the point ?

Lots of different incentives out there. The aforementioned Best Buy deal, Gamestop often gives higher trade-in values towards certain pre-orders, etc. Plus, some folks just want the security of knowing they have a copy on hold. As for digital, some folks want the physical copy so they can re-sell the game, in case something happens that makes them want to get rid of it.
