For the sake of comparison, nfl2k and apf2k are quite relevant. Those were the last viable console football games to measure Madden against and had some gameplay/player interaction elements that Madden has yet to... "re-introduce".

Granted, we've seen iterations of some of those things added to Madden in recent years...head-tracking of the ball, wr/db interaction, contextual running back animations for getting through the line, defensive matchups, etc. There's more to be done.

My comment wasn't about my stance on 2k no longer being able to make a game. Though I can see how that could be perceived as my intent given my recent posts on the subject.

However, I was merely pointing out that though Madden has made significant strides graphically, it should be farther along player interaction/movement-wise, especially when you consider what games that are a decade old were able to achieve. Reasonably thinking, I doubt many would disagree with that assessment.

You provide great insight, you are a valued member of this site. The first two parts of your post were great and what we need and ask for more of.

Leave out the irrelevant stuff. Right now, we are discussing Madden. Not what could have been.


Discuss this game or just move along at this point.
