Not only did they start with Longshot, but that was weak AF. I don't plan on playing this mode, but this did nothing to sway me. Great to know that the dudes character wouldn't be all 99s, tho

Okay, the EA marketing department does what they deem best for M17's marketing campaign. What I don't get is their thought process. I know it's not the case, but I feel like I'm being trolled.

It's marketing 101 though. Your core audience is buying the game no matter what, why come out and talk about things that interest them but will be lost on the "new" consumer?

Exactly.

This blog wasn't intended for this audience, EA is going after mass appeal with Longshot, not core appeal.

Agree with noplace, show some good game play blogs and videos and this is all forgotten.

I don't think gameplay footage would be lost on anyone. Maybe certain nuances about improvements might, but showing off the game, or releasing a blog about the gameplay and the effects of the frostbite engine--especially the visuals--wouldn't be lost on the new consumer. Gameplay footage ( or a even just a blog that shows of the visuals ) may even be more effective at drawing in the new customer than Longshot.
