In high school, I was running down the field trying to avoid blockers on a kickoff. I made a hard cut to change direction and tore my ACL. There was 0 contact. A broken leg may be extreme but there are serious non contact injuries the occur.

Perhaps the should be a contact vs non_contact variable that is plugged into their injury algorithm with the chances of the non contact injury occurring being much lower.

Yeah. I wish they would have at least added an animation. Weird not to. So it definitely will be immersive breaking a little. But like others have said, it's better than not being in. Hopefully, next year they'll add animations.

Why couldn't this be patched in? Pretty big oversight imo.

Heck the original famous Madden video "Greg Jennings broken leg" video had an animation tied to it.

Nobody is debating that. The lack of animations to go along with it is what is annoying people. On a replay apparently everything will look normal but your center will magically have a torn ACL.

Exactly it is just a sloppy way of doing something.

Re: Off Ball Injuries

Closed due to discussion being over at this point. I think it's safe to say that we all want animations tied into off ball injuries as well as injuries that happen around the ball.

People have also made the point that non contact injuries do happen (see the gif + Tannehill/Bridgewater/etc) which is valid.
