Frostbite Physics?

There's some confusion about whether Madden 18 is using a brand new physics engine or not. Rex says...

False. It is running Frostbite physics.
Meanwhile Exec Producer Sean Graddy says...

No, there is not a physics package inside Frostbite that we’re using right now. It’s an updated version of a physics package that we previously had.
Honestly think this is something that needs clearing up.

Rex wasn't wrong guys, it is using frostbite physics.

It just so happens that frostbite physics is the exact same as previously.

Re: Frostbite Physics?

I am more curious about legacy issues like sideline catches/receivers being pulled out of bounds by bad momentum, etc.

For myself, as someone that plays 90% Offline CFM I am concerned with XP being put into WR Release ratings. There are major issues with hot routing a player in Man Press Single coverage and it's almost a guaranteed TD.

I shouldn't have to use a house rule to limit my use of a hot route in this situation. The CPU should see this breakdown and avoid it after the first occurrence, and certainly by the second.

New or not it looks exactly the same. Who cares what the name is. Granted, we knew this when we saw the same animations from the teaser trailers.

Re: Frostbite Physics?

The player physics are so inconsistent & sloppy at times. After watching some of the Madden 18 gameplay vids, physics look the same as 17 which is not a good thing.

Still seeing players walk through other players bodies lying on the field when getting up from tackles, walking through bodies when breaking the huddle & walking to the line of scrimmage, players body parts still fuse together, limbs clipping together, etc.. The thing that's frustrating is they had all this player clipping cleaned up in Madden 16. It's such an immersion killer seeing body parts constantly clipping together & players walking through bodies. It doesn't happen every time & when the physics play out right it looks great. The problem is it's not consistent 100% of the time.

Consistency in player physics (meaning making every part of a players body respected before, during & after the play) was the main thing I wanted to see addressed & it wasn't. Again, I'm going to keep stressing the fact that this stuff was cleaned up in Madden 16! They really need to make player physics a priority going forward. Their physics engine should be way more advanced than it is right now. Hopefully they can clean it up a little in a patch but judging by last year I doubt it smh.
