He can throw a curveball with a football and direct it in midair with his mind. Why's he wasting time on the NFL?!?!

Lol, hmm. Last time I tried to throw a curveball with a football, it spun like a helicopter.

Is that really a 'thing' in that Long Shot mode?

It's part of the minigames. Sometimes, the camera will zoom in on the ball and you have to "steer" it past coverage and into the receivers hands.
