Wow I guess marketing does work. Both the PS4 PRO and XBOX ONE X both due true 4K out. Even the XBOX ONE S can display 4k, just can't run many games at 4K.

Really want to see a night game in 4k. So far in all the videos of night games I've seen, the lighting looks pretty bad. It's flat and doesn't have the pop that real NFL night games do. Daylight looks incredible, but both night and shadow lighting (and interiors) looks kind of distracting.

While you're correct in that many games aren't true 4K, and are upscaled or checkerboarded, the PS4 Pro can most certainly do "true" 4K.

And guess what, Xbox One X won't be doing most of its games in "true" 4k either but rather upscale but it also will be capable of "true" 4K.

So no war at all, they're both going to be exactly the same in that regards.
