Not for me. My last two drafts have been really tame. This draft was really top heavy though. There were 7 WRs taken in the 1st round with all being 78+ I think and only one Slow development. And 6 or so CBs taken in the 1st round all being 77+. The rest of the draft was really barren though outside the first two rounds.

Re: M'18 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks

I just picked what has to be the best player I have ever picked. I ended up picking a 6'3" speed WR and it's a complete joke how good he is. It's almost cheese. If there isn't a safety overtop then I have to throw to him.

Seriously, this guy is so good, it's making me worse at Madden.

Loleti Gay, WR out of Auburn
6'3" with 97 speed, 97 acceleration and all mid to high 80s in the catching, spectacular catch, CIT, route running, beating press, everything.

He also has superstar progression.

He's also the best run blocking WR in the league as a rookie too.

What OVR was he when you drafted him? Also curious what RBK/IBK he started with.

I think he was an 82 OVR when I picked him. I'll have to check his blocking stats. I will advise. I wanna say high 60s/70s.

He was the 3rd highest OVR in the draft, and I took him 3rd overall.

Re: M'18 Biggest Draft Studs and Freaks

Sly,

What pick was that QB? Landing a dude like that is 10x better than your RT. Especially since he's not much of a pass blocker. I despise my poor pass blocking tackles. I seriously think if I could land decent pass blocking tackles, I would never lose.

In 2 drafts in my franchise, I think there was only 1 super star QB, and of course the Patriots got him in the friggin 20s. I was debating picking him over Loleti Gay, but I had a first round QB from my previous draft. He was similar to yours but with normal progression and wanted to get weapons.

FWIW: I think the draft this year is a million times better than in previous years. I was using the scouting tool, but I find it just as easy to just scout tons of people, and add those with positive tweets from the scouts to my draft board. Having the stories and scouting season long also means that you know who the players are in the league. I think it's pretty cool knowing the rooks a little better than just seeing their stats on draft day.

I saw a QB like that go to the Vikings in my 2019 draft. He was also a pocket passer with a 79 OVR. Nice to see pocket passer QBs with great mobility.
