Playing at the coliseum..this game really makes me want to play an NCAA football game with these graphics and player models. The team did a great job with uniforms and colors. Everything looks super sharp.

Does the ps4 version run at 60fps or just the pro?

How much of an improvement is the pro gameplay over standard?

Re: Madden NFL 18 Retail Impressions

I was really underwhelmed whilst playing the Pats vs Falcons SB game whilst the actual game was installing. I wasn't even that blown away graphically.

Anyway, I then played 2 exhibitions and graphically it started looking beautiful (especially outdoor games in the early/mid afternoon) and I started to see some really good things happening all over the field. Anyway, I started a franchise mode with the Falcons on simulation mode, all pro. Game 1 vs the Bears honestly gave me the best madden experience I've had. The game had it all... they went 14 up. I managed to get within 3 points of their lead and then the Bears started to pull away some more, went to go for a field goal that would have taken the game out of reach, I blocked the FG, they recovered it and then my guy got called for a face mask pen which the Bears took full advantage on. Within that game there were fumbles, injuries, catches being made via mad deflections... It had it all. The next game vs Packers was again exciting but not crazy like the previous one. The actual games have character to them. I have never noticed that before with a Madden game and am really excited for this franchise journey (although that mode hasn't changed much) all in all, it has really grown on me and gameplay wise is unmatched without a doubt. Long shot seems ok too... A tad corny but playable for sure.

Idk if it was a goal line animation but looked great.

Anybody having occasional framerate issues during play on PS4?

Not yet. Small sample size though.

Nothing about that was goal line animations. EA still hasn't incorporated short yardage & goal line play after all these years as if it doesn't exist in footbal.

Re: Madden NFL 18 Retail Impressions

All-Madden sim seems really good. It's a challenge but not super overpowering(based off the intro game). Target passing is rough. For people who feared it's not sim it has its sim moments. I targeted Gronk on a Post/Go/Curl option for the post and he ran the go and the miscommunication looked very real and he didn't change routes either, it looked like a real miscue. 3rd down might as well be first down seeing as it's an act of God to get a stop. Options feel a lot better also, no more stuck in the mud which means using Cam, Tyrod, etc. might be even more dangerous. Feels and looks much better than 17 right now
