So I started a cfm with the browns, first year, I traded my vets for some picks and sim the first year.
The second year I didn't sign any of my free agents. To my suprise, L Bell was a free agent, with Brees and Fitz. I was able to sign all three. Then in the draft I got a qb of the future in the second round. My first round picks, where wr, fs, and cb.
I played my first preseason game and lost 27-20, I was happy with my first team offense and my rookie qb. I think I can go 8-8 this year. Maybe 9-7 if I can get some lucky breaks.
I actually simmed and went 11-4-1 and lost in the divisional round in double overtime. I couldn't get my offense going.
Question is Do I resign Brees? I still tons of cap room, cause most of my positions guys are still young.
Update on my jets franchise. I'm now 1-6. My defense is #6 in the NFL(running a mostly zone based scheme, with very little blitzing and very little man coverage, definition of "Bend but don't break") however my offense at this point is atrocious, I'm solid at running the ball(#8 in NFL) terrible at passing(last in the NFL)
It's a building process for sure. I'll have another high draft pick. Don't know if I should go QB or keep building the pieces now and draft a high QB in NEXT years draft.
I play in kind of a strange way. Ever since back in the Front Page Sports days, a friend and I would take the Eagles and trade away ALL real players, replacing them with new draftees. So in Madden, I go through this process over three seasons, trading away real players for picks, then drafting new players, and signing rookie free agents. Once I have an entire roster of "fictional" players, then I start actually playing the games and trying to grow the team into a contender. It's usually a rough go of it at first, especially since I use Armor & Swords' sim settings that emphasize the difference in ratings between players, and most of my players are seventies with a few 80s scattered among the starters.
I finished my 3-year process last night and played my first two preseason games, with my brand new #1 pick superstar QB Hank Stalling at the helm. In the first preseason game he looked great. 80-yard TD drive capped by a 5-yard pass for a TD. Got him out of there after a quarter. In the second game, against the Cardinals led by Jimmy Garropolo, the wheels came off. Kept him in for less than a quarter. He went 2-for-7 with 14 yards and THREE interceptions. The entire first half, we didn't complete a SINGLE drive goal. It was just a disaster. I think we ended up losing that one something like 48-17. Also lost one starting guard for six weeks. Rough day at the office!
Coming off the bye week the Ravens are now 6-3 after starting 1-3, with our next game vs the GB Packers.
The main reason for the turnaround is better ball control from Flacco. After throwing 8 interceptions in his first 3 games he has thrown 4 in the last 6.

Terrance West missed the first 7 games, and when he returned I decided to keep Woodhead as the starter. He responded by fumbling 3 times in 2 games, so West was named the starter.
AFC North Standings:
1. Baltimore, 6-3
2. Pittsburgh, 5-4
3. Cleveland, 5-4
4. Cincinnati, 4-5
Quick notes: Blake Bortles leads the NFL in passing yards. The NFC West has two 7-1 teams (Seahawks and Cardinals) and one 1-7 team (49ers). Atlanta is also 7-1. Patriots are 5-4. Cowboys in last place in the east.
I'm1-3 with The Bears, I beat The Steelers 34-31 in a shootout on a last second field goal, I went in to the game dead last in offense and Trubisky had 4 TDs and a perfect rating. I thought I turned a corner offensively and then got destroyed by Green Bay 47-7, threw three picks and no TDs. My plan was to try and play good defense and run the ball this season and have minimal reliance on QB play but I'm really struggling in all areas except the ground game, but games get out of hand quickly and I have to abandon the run. I hate that I'm hindering my young player's development by not racking up impressive stats
Year 1 of my franchise as the Jets OC. Currently sitting 1-7, surprisingly we DON'T have the worst record in the league, that belongs to the 0-6 Bengals. Up and down year, some close loses and some blowout loses. Went to Cleveland and smashed them for our lone win.
Halfway through the season and it's time to focus on the future. The offseason is my favorite part and already looking forward to the draft. Put together a first round mock:
I generally play single seasons with multiple teams.
I started a Chargers season and we are off to a 1-1 start.
Game 1
Jamaal Charles scored from 7 yards out in the closing minutes of the ball game to give the Denver Broncos a 24-20 win in front of a national audience on Monday Night Football.
Game 1 Recap
Spoiler
The Chargers then evened their record at 1-1 with a 24-17 win over Miami. Phillip Rivers threw a pair of TD's in the winning effort. Ryan Tannehill threw for 330 yards and 2 scores in the loss.
Game 2 Recap
Spoiler
Melvin Gordon will miss 2-4 weeks with an Elbow Injury and WR Travis Benjamin will miss about a month with a shoulder injury.
