Probably because you need to have the same team's defense changed in schemes as the teams playbook that he used to create the defensive book. So, if he used the Viking playbook as a base for 1 of his books you will need to go to coaching schemes and put in that you are using their book. It will only stick for the same formations in the base defense though.

Thanks Vann. Do the subs work for offense using custom playbooks?

Like with defense, the subs will only stick for the formations that are common to the formation sub menu AND the custom O playbook...

Yes but same thing. If you have formations you added that are not in a teams playbook then you can't do it... All my subs have stuck this way both offensively and defensively...

Edit: maybe sabotage could post what defensive book he started and used as a base for each playbook he did. That would help...

I couldn't tell if you ever found NFL blitzing schemes. I had a table I used in NCAA 2012 to adjust aggression sliders to try to reduce blitzing. I tried to search but can't find it now only references I used to make to it. It varies by team but most teams blitz on player about 40% of the time and 6 or more players 5-10% of the time. In NCAA at that time they had it running on default at about 30% having 6 pass rushers. I think they have BS playcalling to put pressure on the user who has better field vision than a real quarterback.

ALso their system is a bit bogus. You playcall on both yardage + down but also personnel. You call more cover 3 or 4 against 2TE or 2RB formations.

I emailed Sim and Smitty to get Rex to patch the CPU defense gameplans so we do not have to do it. We are consumers and fans, not disgruntled employees - LOL. The best books to use are:

*Cover 2 for 4-3 Defense

and

*Mujltiple D for 3-4/Hybrid Defense

Look @ the game plans in Madden 17 for those books and compare to other books and you will know why. Much less Cover 1 called from those two formations. Best current books are Vikings (4-3) and Steelers (3-4/Hybrid).

Re: Simulation Football Playcalling 18: Fixing the CPUs Predictable Gameplans

Anyone having issues with Custom Playbooks used by CPU? I seem to get "Special Teams" glitch half way through the game
For those who ask.."what is the special teams glitch?"
It is when the CPU will come out in Special Teams personal..break huddle then run away from the LOS..i had this issue last year and assumed I had too many plays selected in a specific down and distance situation..if someone knows the allowable plays, formations, or numbers of plays allowed in each down and distance plz let me know either here or via PM thanks Joe
