Career stats in CFM

Jeeze Lou-eeze. Ive been playing this game since Sega Genesis, and they still cant simply implement historical data tracking from season to season in Franchise mode

What I find odd is that it seems EA went out of their way to complicate the CFM side. From the main menu you can click in your thumbstick and see a players stats, including previous seasons with teams. But, for some choice, in CFM you have to click the player then choose stats, added button pushes and you end up with less information.

Strangest part is you see the players ratings listed in full (or fullish if from the roster), choose a player to just see some of his ratings again... then have to tab over to see the rest! Who thought this was a good system?

Like others have mentioned, the players team history shows up on the main menu rosters but in CFM past teams played for doesn't show up. I would think this is an issue inherent to CFM that the game doesn't "remember" or keep track of past occurrences outside of stats for each player.

It's a legacy issue. I had to input the career stats manually for Madden 12. There just isn't a "team" field in the database. To add it would require memory allocation and UI work. It's not a huge job, but it's one of those things one director or another will constantly push to be cut.

Design is in a constant negotiation with management over what makes it and what doesn't. Someone under-designed the feature over a decade ago, and it always gets laid as an offering to the scope gods in crunch time.
