Context is important, I never commented on how the resources were used only how they increased them since the time referenced. The point was they have increased resources contrary to a statement made by someone else.

The sad truth is franchise players made madden what it is today, but the changing gaming climate is going to leave us in the dust. Micro transactions will never fly in franchise mode thus the lack of resources.

I think you'd be surprised on this. It is all about how it is applied and positioned.

If I pay 60 dollars for your game, you aren't gonna nickel and dime me to get a full service franchise mode. Especially when there are other games (nba 2k) who give me a full featured mode for no extra cost.

I'm sure a lot of other gamers feel the same way.

And the context of my statement was the increase in resources doesn't seem to have done much to improving the realism, depth and quality of madden. So what real effect does "increase in resources" really have except an increase in resources?

It gave us Longshot. A movie. With no replay-ability. Extra resources that they claim took 4 years in development. I'm not impressed.

Because it was correcting misinformation provided in the post I responded to. He said they have no need to put resources in to it without competition, however they have added a large number of resources to their development team. You can not like the results, but that doesn't change the facts in the statement.

2k has micro transactions in their Franchise/GM mode.

Well. when it comes to an in depth, realistic franchise and smart gameplay, he was right. Resources into Longshot means nothing to an in depth and realistic franchise or smart gameplay. If we had an NFL game with NBA2K's depth as competition to Maddem, we'd have a much better Madden today (or Madden would go away the way Live did). So there is validity to what the guy said and it wasn't complete misinformation.
