Get a group of guys;

Head coach plays games
General manager plays free agency and draft
Head of Player Personnel does all scouting

Everyone has full control of their individual areas. Anybody tried this?

If that's how you scout, you must draft like ****.

The point, really, is to create points of contention. Maybe you have the head coach scout. The idea is the GM is drafting off a list he didn't make, just as the coach must work with a roster he didn't build.

Drafting is based on 175 points (200 if your coach has the expert scout grade) and then you pay 15,10, and 5 points for 3 letter grades. So for a QB its something like throw power, short ACC, throw on run. And then you see the combine grades when you start drafting. So yeah its not much

Decided: You get the scout's job.

I think you'd get an interesting dynamic if you played coach mode with three people
in the roles of GM, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator. Perhaps the GM could
name one coordinators head coach after the preseason, ceding him control over the
depth charts, playbook, substitutions, time outs, etc. The other coordinator would then
only call plays, and lobby the head coach for changes to the depth chart and playbook.
Perhaps during the preseason, the coordinators would alternate assuming the role of head coach.

How about this:

Head coach CALLS plays
Offensive coordinator plays offensive plays
Defensive coordinator plays defensive plays
GM plays free agency and draft and scouting

*really shouldn't have scouting alone. It just wouldn't be very fun.
